Swiss Army Man, 2016

Directed by: Daniel Kwan, Daniel Schienert

Starring: Paul Dano, Daniel Radcliffe

Swiss Army Man was many things. It was engaging, really funny, full of fun and equally touching moments and filled with a truly unique personality. It was also weird as hell. I can honestly say that I’ve never seen a movie quite like this.

To those who don’t know, it’s about a man (Paul Dano) stuck on a remote island prepared to give up on life, until he comes across a lifeless(?) corpse (Daniel Radcliffe) with extraordinary powers. Together, they must travel back to civilisation to regain what it is to be human.

I actually have a lot of thoughts as to the meaning of the film, but for risk of spoiling the experience, I shall just recommend you go see it, but go with an open mind. It’s very original and I would encourage people to go see something so far from the mainstream. I loved it.

(Unfortunately, in Sydney it’s only being shown at Dendy Newtown, but personally I thought it was well worth the trip)
